How You Can Help
Children with Communication Disorders in Virginia need Your help!
Some families in the
Central Virginia community do not have access to insurance to
pay for
Communication Services. Even more families are enrolled in insurance plans
that
do not cover communication services. Services are often deemed "not medically
necessary” unless the communication disorder was caused by a traumatic event
such as
a car accident or stroke. Because of this, many children needing
treatment do not get
the help they need.
With your help, we can provide services to these children.
Our financial
assistance program has given many children access to the services they need.
Since opening our doors in 1991, we have provided $1,643,500 in financially assisted services.
It is estimated that $125,000.00 in financial
assistance will be requested of the Center in the
year 2008.
To make this happen, we work
diligently year around to bring in revenue from
fundraising events, grant writing and other
means. We rely, however, on the support of caring
individuals, organizations,
corporations, foundations, clubs and civic groups greatly.
"If there be any truer measure of a man than by what he
does, it must be by
what he gives." ROBERT SOUTH
